Client demand encouraged Centrax to make TrainingBYTE™ applications for portable devices. Several of our clients wanted to provide training solutions for their employees or customers working remotely in the field. Also, there are times when information is needed immediately and portable devices offer instant gratification.
The Mobile TrainingBYTE™ programs consist of short, formatted content that can be efficiently used in the field. The TrainingBYTEs™ Centrax has produced meeta range of business needs, including process training, safety training, employee orientations, customer training, repairing equipment in the field and enabling dynamic sales presentations anywhere anytime.
Our clients report experiencing many significant benefits from Centrax’s Mobile TrainingBYTEs™. Their salespeople are closing deals faster. New employees are being oriented more efficiently and effectively. And, our clients are saving money by using PDAs, instead of PCs or paper, to collect survey information from interviewees and customers.
Centrax Mobile TrainingBYTEs currently work on Compaq-IPAQ, HP-Jornada, Casio – Cassiopeia, all which use the Microsoft Pocket PC Operating System. Centrax has chosen the Pocket PC Operating System to enable the development of dynamic interactive training beyond text-based programs.
Here are some considerations for implementing m-learning (Mobile Learning). First, make sure that the content is suitable for the device. Training programs that are long and text-heavy will not work efficiently due to the small screen size of PDAs. Second, get the appropriate technical assistance on the front end before investing in a large number of PDAs or connectivity software. Third, it is important to access upfront how the PDAs will be used with regards to the target learning audience and their environment. For example, there may be a need for "industrial" versions of PDAs if they will be used in harsh locations. Centrax staff are experienced at working with our clients to devise the most effective interactive e-learning and m-learning experience.
